OVERCOMING STRONGHOLDS
Saturday, Mar. 8, 2025
10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. John Fisher University Chapel
We humans can endure a lot of suffering and still muscle on. Sometimes we don’t even know that our sins or past wounds are holding us “hostage,” dictating the way we act and react to situations in our daily lives. We’re blind to it. But often our close friends and family can see it—they bear the weight of our woundedness in a special way and long for our hearts and minds to be free.
This is what Jesus Christ can do at an Overcoming Strongholds Seminar:
Bring truth and dispel the oppressive lies that keep us bound to disordered ways of thinking and acting;
Help us see how sinful or self-protective habits can harm our relationships and isolate us;
Free us for a life of flourishing in his love, both here on earth and for eternity in heaven.
If your past is holding you captive, it is time to drop the chains and receive the truth that God loves you and sent his Son to rescue you from the captor! “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1). Come and learn the truth that you are wonderfully made to be a good gift for others. Come and experience the mercy that comes through the cross. Come and learn how to forgive and be forgiven. Come and let Christ set your heart free.
There is no charge for this seminar (donations will be accepted for the cost of food). Women and men 18+ are welcome. Visit stjoelo.breezechms.com/form/OS-Mar25 to register. Email [email protected] or Suzie Fazzini with questions. All inquiries are confidential!
