On October 26 at 7pm, St. Joseph will be hosting an ASR (Active Shooter Response) Training. This is open to ALL parishioners and guests and will be held in the church. It will be presented by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. There is no recommended age limit for the event, but please use common sense and discernment; some of the training includes audio/video from 911 calls and surveillance footage of actual events. While this topic is something no one wants to think about, the unfortunate reality is that we find ourselves in a day and age in which being aware and prepared for potential, previously unthinkable situations is critical. This training is intended to help people learn to be aware and prepare to react in case of potential aggressions, whether in the church or anywhere. Thank you to Fr. Steve, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, and our own volunteers for sponsoring this important opportunity.
