Caring Ministries

Do you feel drawn to help and/or pray for the sick or suffering? Do you like to provide meals to families who are facing physical or emotional hardships? Then consider joining one of our caring ministries.

LAY PASTORAL CARE MINISTERS
Lay Pastoral Care ministers represent our parish in extending the love of Christ to the sick, the dying, and the grieving. They do this by providing homebound Communion, lay pastoral care and Communion visits to those in nursing homes or who are unable to come to Mass, as well as grief support. Training is provided. ST. VINCENT DE PAUL MEMBERS
St. Vincent de Paul members help to serve the poor by meeting with area families who are in need of financial assistance. Volunteers make visits in pairs, assessing the need of the client and helping to support the families in the best way possible. Commitment is usually a once a month visit and a once a month meeting. FUNERAL LUNCHEON CREW
This is one of the most appreciated services we provide. Grieving families are always touched by gifts of home cooking at funeral luncheons. It's a great way to show love and compassion to our parishioners in their greatest time of need. Volunteers serve once per month and help out in person at the luncheon prepping the room, serving the meal, and cleaning up afterwards. STEPHEN MINISTRY
Our parish’s Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide one-to-one care to people in our parish and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry. The identity of these receiving care and everything they discuss with a Stephen Minister remains private. We all experience challenges in lifetimes when we could benefit from care and support. Stephen Ministers can provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty such as:

• Loss of a loved one
• Hospitalization or recovery after an accident or disaster
• Divorce or separation
• Loneliness or discouragement
• Spiritual crisis
• Major financial setback, unemployment or job crisis
• Terminal or chronic illness
• Aging
• Birth, adoption, miscarriage, or infertility
• Retirement
• Relocation
• Loved one with a mental health issue or addiction
• Many other life challenges
